My Red 5
or How To Get Your Car to Dress Up for Star Wars.

What the...?
Actual Recent Updates (April 2005):
- Road Squadron went to C3! And, hey, we were cool enough to score parking IN THE BUILDING this time.
- I've started acting on that bout of specific inspiration brought on by everybody's favorite Rocket Roll band, the Phenomenauts (You love 'em too, you just might not know it yet). Sorry, but I haven't got any pictures of it yet. If you see any C3 pictures of my car, it's there. Also, if anybody's got any wrecked Star Wars toys and playsets, I promise I'll feed them to my car.
- Oh, and I've finished an R2 dome. Well, not exactly finished... but I'm finished starting an R2 dome.
Not-So-Recent Recent Updates (Jan 2004):
- Hey, kids. Here's the official thought of this week:
"Off-the-shelf PC mods run off 12vdc.
...
Most cars run 12vdc."
Well, more accurately: Cars generally run everything off 12vdc, but when you drive like you want to, it jumps up to somewhere around 14vdc. I know nothing about the average tolerences of off-the-shelf PC mods, but offhand I'd say I'm probably going to have fun blowing things up in a few days. I hope whatever I fry ends up spewing pink smoke like those caps do, when they don't quite meet their listed specs...
I've already said too much.
- If it wasn't for my being hijacked into the Art Car community in early Summer 2003, I never would have half of the ideas I've been kicking around lately. They've all contributed to my sliding down the slippery slope...
But mostly, I owe at least half of my recent bout of serious inspiration to the Phenomenauts. You love 'em too, you just might not know it yet. Just trust me: You want to buy their album. After you listen to the album, you'll wish you had, like, 20 t-shirts, so you might as well get those as well. Why are you still here? Go now!
- I've done a lot since the very last digital picture for this site was taken. One of the upshoots of an idea I've recently implemented is that people now seem to think they can't touch the chassis without being badly electrocuted. Is it wrong if that makes me happy?
Regardless of that, I think it's time for another photo-shoot situation. The whole thing looks at least twice as crazy as it did before.
- Updates to the sections detailing the processes behind what I've done badly need updating. But that's for later.
Ideas I'd like to have the time to implement:
- Car Tours: A clickable tour of my terrible automobile. I hope you're really bored.
- The Vandalization of Red 5. Will include full story and pictures of a real blast mark acquired when I left my car alone for too long (In a church parking lot!) on Tuesday, July 17, 2001.
- The Summertime Facelift. (Evidently, it takes a Maaco paint job about 2 years before it starts peeling severely about the edges.)
- The Interior: Shouldn't this look more like a spaceship?
